I'm back!

Well, its been a while since I had the time to write anything but I've finally found a few minutes to sit down and let you know whats been going on!
My cancer treatment is now finished; thats mainly why I havn't been on here lately as I spent 5 weeks away from home and without access to my computer!

As many of you know, I have my fundraising store on Folksy http://www.folksy.com/shops/MacmillanFundraising
and since I started my treatment, that has raised just over £200 for my local Macmillan fundraising group here on the island. I want to say a big "THANK YOU" to everyone that has bought items from the store; donated items for me to sell in the store or sold items in their own store and passed on the proceeds!

I am doing some more fundraising for Macmillan here on the island. It is our local arts club exhibition in a couple of weeks and I have been busy making some items to sell in aid of Macmillan.
As you might expect from me, there will be lots of lovely jewellery!
I have been busy making lots of beaded bracelets - I even took a huge bag of beads and findings (plus my pliers) with me when I went to Glasgow for my treatment!!

Inspired by the lovely Sue at http://www.folksy.com/shops/susiej who made me a lovely hat when I lost my hair due to the chemotherapy, I started to make some woolly brooches! Trouble is, once I started I couldn't stop! I crochetted some to start with then I found a little device on Ebay that I remembered from my childhood! Its a bit like a round weaving thing and it makes lovely delicate flowers!

So far, I've made a couple of dozen, and as its still 2 weeks to the exhibition, then I could end up with a few more!! I've been wearing a couple around town and quite a few people have said they like them so I'm hoping that they prove a sell out for Macmillan!!

Over the weekend, I finally got round to doing something that I've been planning for ages but never got around to (isn't that always the excuse we use!!)

I got my stash of glass nuggets out and plugged in my soldering iron and made a couple of lovely suncatchers!!

I am really pleased with the way they turned out, and am hoping that they also prove a big hit!

On top of all that, I have also made a few items for my local Cancer Research UK shop here on the island! Its really nice to see people walking around town wearing something that I made and donated to the charity shop to raise funds! I don't suppose that many other Folksy sellers would have that as I guess its the fact that living on a small island means that we all know each other!!

I have something bigger planned for a fundraiser for Macmillan in the near future, but its still in the planning stage at the moment!!

Well, its good to be back home and finished with the treatment!

The hair is almost back and looking respectable now so the scarves are a thing of the past!
Here's to the future!

It never ceases to amaze me!!

There are some truly wonderful people out there in Folksy land and today the postman bought me a couple of lovely surprise from 2 of them!

The first parcel was from a lovely lady called Lisa (who I loved straight away as thats my wee sister's name!!)
Her shop is http://www.folksy.com/shops/sweetpyroangel and she, like me, had taken part in a recent swop organised by Rachel at http://www.folksy.com/shops/chulscharms

Lisa had sent me not 1, but 3 pairs of lovely earrings! She must have known about my earring fetish!!!

The second parcel was from a lovely lady called Tracy from http://www.folksy.com/shops/DKCrystalDesigns

She has put a beautiful crystal suncatcher in her store for my Macmillan fundraising http://www.folksy.com/items/522989-MacMillan-Fundraising-Suncatcher-Aqua-Teal-Crystal-Window-Hanging-?shop=yes

Even more wonderful was that she sent me a beautiful one to hang in my window!

I tried to take a good photograph of it, but I can't really do it justice! It is a lovely item.
So, once again my faith in the love and kindness of people has been restored!
I'll be away from my computer for the next few weeks (well, at least Mon to Fri) as I'm off to Glasgow for my radiotherapy treatment so I won't be around much on the folksy forums!
Will pop in at the weekends for a nosey around and to see what lovely new things have been listed!
Take care of yourselves and love one another. x

More Goodies for Macmillan

The Macmillan fundraising is on going! After a short lull since I reached my first target of £100, the amount is stating to creep up slowly towards the second £100. Thats my new target for when I finish my radiotherapy in mid July!
I've made a few new items and some of them have been listed in my Folksy shop that I set up especially for this purpose.
http://www.folksy.com/shops/MacmillanFundraising

This lovely bracelet
http://www.folksy.com/items/530037-PRETTY-FLOWER-BRACELET?shop=yes
began life as an old broken necklace that was given to me by the lady who runs our local Oxfam shop. I dismantled it all and made a couple of these bracelets! I gave one back to her and the other is being sold for Macmillan!

This bracelet is made up of about 4 old necklaces and I had
great fun making about 3 or 4 similar ones using different

I've also got a few items that have been donated by other
lovely Folksy sellers.

A lovely bracelet was kindly donated by Frances at http://www.folksy.com/shops/DesignedByFrances and she is also selling a lovely necklace for Macmillan in her store aswell!

donated some pretty earrings
I've been busy making lots more lovely items to go in the store so why not pop along and have a look!
I start my radiotherapy on 2nd June and finish on 7th July and would dearly love to reach the second £100 target by then!
I hope you like the selection of goodies that I've selected to show you and please remember that Macmillan are a charity and rely on fundraising in order to carry out the wonderful work that they do!

Oh dear!!!

Well, after blogging a couple of days ago about having a good clear out - what have I gone and done?
Only bought a huge job lot of beads from a lovely lady over on Folksy! And when I say a huge job lot - I mean HUGE!!!!!
Hubby will go nuts when the parcel arrives - mind you with any luck it will come at the end of the week when I'm over on the mainland at the hospital!!!
I should be able to get away with it by telling him that I will be putting all the lovely items to very good use and making (and hopefully) selling items to go towards my fundraising for Macmillan.
Just need to find some space to put it all now! :-)
If anyone is feeling sorry for me and would like to take some lovely goodies off my hands to free up some space then have a look here!

Oh well, back to the sort out!!!

Still clearing out!

Oh dear, I'm still trying to clear out some of my craft goodies but the more that I look, the more stuff I seem to find!! Where has it all come from?

I must admit to having a liking for wanting to try allsorts of things but its not really practical when we live in a 2 room flat!

So yesterday in another of my rummages I found some plaster moulds that I bought about 4 years ago - think I used them once!!! They made too much mess (or rather I did!) and because they took ages to dry out properly they were all over the kitchen worktops for about a week!
They have now been listed over in my destash store on Folksy!

http://www.folksy.com/items/509085-PLASTER-MOULDS?shop=yes

Then I found a stash of lovely glass pendants that I bought ages ago and again never got round to doing anything with so they have also been listed!
http://www.folksy.com/items/509001-GLASS-PENDANTS?shop=yes

There are 4 lots of these listed!

Also have loads of card blanks

http://www.folksy.com/items/326889-CHRISTMAS-CARD-BLANKS-PACKS-OF-12?shop=yes

and handmade paper envelopes!

There are also lots of charms and beads and jewellery findings for sale so why not come along and grab a bargain!

One thing I do have that I havn't got around to listing is lots of assorted tumblestones! If anyone is interested them give me a message on Folksy!

All proceeds from these sales will be going into my Macmillan fundraising kitty! I have already handed over a cheque for £100 and am now on the second £100.
Right, guess I better get back to sorting out again!!
Have a great Sunday!
