More Goodies for Macmillan

The Macmillan fundraising is on going! After a short lull since I reached my first target of £100, the amount is stating to creep up slowly towards the second £100. Thats my new target for when I finish my radiotherapy in mid July!
I've made a few new items and some of them have been listed in my Folksy shop that I set up especially for this purpose.

This lovely bracelet
http://www.folksy.com/items/530037-PRETTY-FLOWER-BRACELET?shop=yes
began life as an old broken necklace that was given to me by the lady who runs our local Oxfam shop. I dismantled it all and made a couple of these bracelets! I gave one back to her and the other is being sold for Macmillan!

This bracelet is made up of about 4 old necklaces and I had
great fun making about 3 or 4 similar ones using different

I've also got a few items that have been donated by other
lovely Folksy sellers.

A lovely bracelet was kindly donated by Frances at http://www.folksy.com/shops/DesignedByFrances and she is also selling a lovely necklace for Macmillan in her store aswell!

donated some pretty earrings
I've been busy making lots more lovely items to go in the store so why not pop along and have a look!
I start my radiotherapy on 2nd June and finish on 7th July and would dearly love to reach the second £100 target by then!
I hope you like the selection of goodies that I've selected to show you and please remember that Macmillan are a charity and rely on fundraising in order to carry out the wonderful work that they do!

Oh dear!!!

Well, after blogging a couple of days ago about having a good clear out - what have I gone and done?
Only bought a huge job lot of beads from a lovely lady over on Folksy! And when I say a huge job lot - I mean HUGE!!!!!
Hubby will go nuts when the parcel arrives - mind you with any luck it will come at the end of the week when I'm over on the mainland at the hospital!!!
I should be able to get away with it by telling him that I will be putting all the lovely items to very good use and making (and hopefully) selling items to go towards my fundraising for Macmillan.
Just need to find some space to put it all now! :-)
If anyone is feeling sorry for me and would like to take some lovely goodies off my hands to free up some space then have a look here!

Oh well, back to the sort out!!!

Still clearing out!

Oh dear, I'm still trying to clear out some of my craft goodies but the more that I look, the more stuff I seem to find!! Where has it all come from?

I must admit to having a liking for wanting to try allsorts of things but its not really practical when we live in a 2 room flat!

So yesterday in another of my rummages I found some plaster moulds that I bought about 4 years ago - think I used them once!!! They made too much mess (or rather I did!) and because they took ages to dry out properly they were all over the kitchen worktops for about a week!
They have now been listed over in my destash store on Folksy!

http://www.folksy.com/items/509085-PLASTER-MOULDS?shop=yes

Then I found a stash of lovely glass pendants that I bought ages ago and again never got round to doing anything with so they have also been listed!
http://www.folksy.com/items/509001-GLASS-PENDANTS?shop=yes

There are 4 lots of these listed!

Also have loads of card blanks

http://www.folksy.com/items/326889-CHRISTMAS-CARD-BLANKS-PACKS-OF-12?shop=yes

and handmade paper envelopes!

There are also lots of charms and beads and jewellery findings for sale so why not come along and grab a bargain!

One thing I do have that I havn't got around to listing is lots of assorted tumblestones! If anyone is interested them give me a message on Folksy!

All proceeds from these sales will be going into my Macmillan fundraising kitty! I have already handed over a cheque for £100 and am now on the second £100.
Right, guess I better get back to sorting out again!!
Have a great Sunday!

Mushrooms, Toadstools and Fungi!

Well its that time of the week again!
So here's my selection for Folksy Friday! This week, I'm following
a fungi theme!
As most of you know by now, I have a liking for funky earrings so these ones really caught my eye!
Made by Helen at Glamorous Glue.
My next offering is this wonderful mad march hare!
By Pixie Doodle Gifts it is a lovely print of an original watercolour
and pencil illustration.
Looks like this fun guy is having a great time!
Even though its now almost mid-may the nights can still be a bit
chilly, especially up here on the west coast of Scotland so this cute
hot water botle cover would be ideal!
Made by rainbow fairy dust, it comes complete with a brand new
bottle and a lovely sachet of dried lavender that you pop inside the cover to release the soothing fragrance that will quickly have you drifting off to laa laa land!
This lovely mushroom charm bracelet is made by Jacqui at Making Moments.
Made with cute glass mushrooms I think
this is a lovely bracelet.

Next up is this really lovely pin brooch featuring a cute caterpillar
and some toadstools!
Made by Fluffsstuffs.

My final mushroom offering is this lovely little coin purse.
Made by Valerie of Girl of the Sixties.

I hope that you like my little selection for this weeks Folksy Friday. I must apologise for not being able to give links back to the shops but my computer refuses to copy and paste this morning and my brain is too fuddled to write out the links myself!! If the computer behaves later on, then I will come back an add the links!
Really sorry!

Climb every mountain!!!!

Its not often that "normal" people get to climb a moutain so I guess that when the chance arises, some people grasp the opportunity with both hands!
But I never really thought that my sister would be one of them!!

In October 2010, Lisa and her partner Rebecca will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to help raise funds for Motor Neurone.
In 2008, Rebecca's Mother was diagnosed with MN. She sadly passed away on 20th August 2009.

To read more about the story please go here http://www.justgiving.com/Rebecca-Keating-Kilimanjaro?ref=nf
If you can help in any way, I know that they, and I would be very thankful!

I'm just wondering what Lisa is planning for next year? Last year she ran the London marathon, so I have no idea whats going to happen next!! I think maybe turning 40 (sorry Lisa!!!) has addled her brain a bit but hey, every respect is due to her!!! Only joking sis, really!!!

Do you think if I plan a sky dive to raise funds for Macmillan she might be interested?

So if you can spare 5 minutes and a few quid then please check out the page that Rebecca has set up and pass the link on to anyone else!!

On behalf of Lisa and Rebecca, many thanks!

£100 and counting!!

Back in March, I opened my Macmillan Fundraising store on Folksy and started selling bits of jewellery to raise funds for my local Macmillan group here on the island!
Lots of fellow folksters offered me beads and other bits and pieces and some even put up items for sale in their stores!

Slowly, the amount raised crept up! My initial aim was to raise £100 before my chemotherapy ended in mid May, but I got there 2 weeks early!

On Wednesday, Frances, from DESIGNED BY FRANCES sold this lovely necklace
http://www.folksy.com/items/402969-Donation-for-Buteartism-McMillian-Nurses-?shop=yes
and that, along with a small sale from my own store http://www.folksy.com/shops/MacmillanFundraising took the total over the £100 mark!

So on Saturday morning, I handed over a cheque for the sum to the Treasurer of my local group here on the island and she was stunned that I had done this! She was even more stunned when I told her that my next aim is to raise another £100 before my radiotherapy ends in mid July!

I owe a huge thank you to all the lovely people on Folksy who have been helping me in this fundraising effort!

Trish at MOODY COW DESIGNS still has this lovely bag for sale http://www.folksy.com/items/397929-Daisy-bag-for-Macmillan-Fundraising-BUTEARTISM-?shop=yes

10% from every sale here http://www.folksy.com/shops/lightthefused goes to the cause,

If you're looking for an original gift idea then try this http://www.folksy.com/items/423561-Copper-Heart-Brooch-MacMillan-Fundraising?shop=yes

You could always grab yourself a real bargain in the auctions that I am running http://shop.ebay.co.uk/butekaz/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340
in aid of Macmillan! Everything starts at 99p so you could get yourself an original item of jewellery for a fraction of the cost!

So here's to the next £100!!!
